Hunter in the Opening Number of the People’s Choice Awards!

DSC01690I got to work my very first live television job this week at the 40th Annual People’s Choice Awards! A few years ago I got to sit in the nosebleed section of this show with friends, but this year I got to be onstage! It was a really fun event, met some great people and learned a lot about the work that goes into putting shows like this together. Never again will I judge a host or presenter at an awards show—there is a ton of pressure when everything is live, and there are so many moving pieces around you. Big props to everyone involved with this show (which I just heard got its highest ratings in years, yay!) I was very impressed! Can’t wait to be back at the Nokia for whatever comes next–hopefully accepting an award of my own one day! :)

New Reel, Soon-to-Be New Name

Wow, November has been a busy month. My fiance and I just moved to a new, bigger apartment, I’ve been working a ton, and the holidays are just around the corner. In fact, my wedding is pretty close to being just around the corner, too! I’ve been mulling over what to do about changing my name when I get married, and today I finally settled on a solution. Legally, I’ll be Laura Hunter Drago, and professionally I’m going to drop my first name and go by Hunter Drago. It is a big change, but one that I’m happy with for a variety of reasons. First of all, it incorporates my maiden and married names nicely, and I think it has a nice ring to it. Second, I’ll finally have the .com of the name I’m using professionally (just bought it today!) Also, there are a LOT of people named Laura Hunter… I’m one of almost 10 on IMDB and it gets a little confusing. This is more unique and will be better for things like Google searches, etc. So, that’s happening and I’m going to start phasing it in and taking the steps to make that the official name on this website and elsewhere. It is a process!

Something else that’s new is this updated film reel, check it out!

Two Updates: AFI Fest 2013 & Linda McAlister Talent

Laura HunterVery excited to be returning for my third year of social media coverage at AFI Fest this week and next week! Can’t wait to see some fabulous films and tell you all about them! I’ll be posting lots of updates on my Twitter account, and will hopefully have the chance to put up a few good blog posts here, too!

I’m also thrilled to announce that I am working with Linda McAlister Talent in Los Angeles. Really excited to have a great new theatrical team, and can’t wait to start getting out for more auditions!

October was a busy month for me work-wise (I have a fun little spot on The Crazy Ones coming up in a few months) as well as personally! I just got back from a weekend in Vegas with my best friends for my Bachelorette party, which was an event to remember for sure. Matt and I also celebrated our “last” dating anniversary before we get married, which was on Halloween!

What are you up to this fall?
